Vacuum Cleaner RatingsWelcome to Vacuum Cleaner Ratings!

We provide vacuum cleaner Consumer Ratings Figures.  We learned early-on that consumers want to know how previous buyers rate a product. This is often a critical purchasing point.

So we cut to the chase - no marketing-hype, just Vacuum Ratings.

We scan the net for quality sources of consumer reports and ratings related to each vacuum cleaner model. We then aggregate these into tables and provide weighted scores (out of 100). While not entirely "scientific", this approach provides a quick and accurate snapshot of consumer sentiment for each vacuum cleaner. Avoid the clunkers and quickly find the winners!

Dyson DC59 Animal

Wednesday, 14 May 2014

94.7  The new Dyson DC59 Animal (or Dyson Digital Slim DC59 as it is sometimes called) is a powerful, bagless, lightweight, cordless stick vacuum that is getting spectacular reviews and ratings from owners.  We have seen close to 2000 consumer ratings to date and these generate an average score of 94.7 out of 100.  This is just slightly above 4.7 stars out of 5.  These figures place the DC59 Animal in our ‘Excellent” range.

Bissell Cleanview with OnePass

Friday, 04 October 2013

87.9  Our research found over 430 consumer ratings for the Bissell 9595 which resulted in an average score of 87.9 out of 100 (or about 4.4 stars out of 5).  This is a good score for any full size vacuum, but for a vacuum which can sometime be found for as low as $79 it is quite exceptional.   The 9595 is bagless, comes with several attachments and carries a 2-year limited warranty.

Dyson DC44 Animal Digital Slim

Monday, 22 July 2013

88.1  The Dyson DC44 Animal – often referred to as the “Digital Slim” – is a combination stick vac and handheld vacuum.  It is bagless and cordless and is the most recent digital slim vacuum from Dyson.  The last was the DC35.  The DC44 has twice the power (at the nozzle) of the DC35 and it also has increased run time due to a more sophisticated Li-ion battery.  The DC44 battery, like that on the DC35, is fade-free meaning it discharges evenly and provides the same power until it is exhausted.

Shark Rotator Lift-away - Model NV501

Friday, 22 February 2013

95.1  Our new Top Rated Upright, the Shark Rotator Lift-away - model NV501 - is often compared to a Dyson at half the price.  The vacuum is getting fantastic ratings from consumers and is being praised for its power, maneuverability, capability on bare floors as well as carpet, and ease of maintenance.  The vacuum isn’t perfect however and some folks find the wand and hose assembly awkward to use.  But all-in-all this vacuum is most definitely worth a look if you are in the market for a new upright.

Dyson DC39 Animal

Wednesday, 29 August 2012

89.3  The Dyson DC39 Animal canister vacuum is getting very good reviews and ratings from consumers.  In our rating system it scores 89.3 out of 100 which is just short of “excellent”.  Owners report that the unit has very strong suction, is easy to maneuver and is also great looking.  The power cord is a bit short however and the brushbar in the nozzle is air-driven so it is not as powerful as a motor-driven brushbar.

Hoover Platinum LINX Pet Handheld Vacuum BH50030

Monday, 07 May 2012

86.4  Ratings for the Hoover Linx Pet (BH50030) handheld vacuum are in the “good range”, giving it a score similar to its predecessor the BH50015 (which is generally no longer available).  Owners like the fade-free power of the lithium ion battery and the quick recharge time.  The unit is also lightweight and comes with several good attachments for specialized cleaning.  The BH50030 is a little expensive for a handheld however at over $100 and some consumers find it a bit loud.
