Bissell 1770 QuickSteamer

82.2  This is a very lightweight carpet cleaner and as such it is not really a heavy-duty machine.  Consumers do not feel it is effective on pet stains or other heavy stains, but do feel it does a reasonable job at a reasonable price.

A review of consumer comments indicates the following common Bissell 1770 QuickSteamer likes and dislikes:

The Bissell QuickSteamer is indeed lightweight weighing in at about 12 lbs.  It is also a fairly compact machine and as such storage is easy.  It comes with a cross-action brush to help loosen dirt however it should be noted that this brush is not power driven.  The brush moves as a result of you moving the carpet cleaner itself.  This has caused some consumer grumbling and a number of folks indicated that they were prefer to pay a little extra for a power brush.

The clean water and dirty water tanks have a 0.50 gallon capacity and are purported to be easy to remove and empty.  There are some complaints however that the tanks need to be emptied/refilled frequently because their volume is too small. 

The QuickSteamer 1770 is easy to assemble and to use and is powered by a 4 amp motor.  The power cord is 20 feet in length and the nozzle on the front is removable.  The wheels on this machine are large and some consumers indicate that it is quite maneuverable.

Most retailers provide a 16-ounce container of multi-allergen cleaning formula and an 8-ounce booster cleaning formula with the unit.  It also comes with an ergonomic handle, an 8.5" cleaning path, and it carries a limited 1-year warranty.
