Bissell Zing Canister Vacuum 10M2

85.8  The Bissell Zing canister vacuum model 10M2 is a bagless machine and is getting pretty good consumer ratings (there are a few other models of Zing as well – the 7100B and the 22Q3 – these are both bagged).  The 10M2 is a very inexpensive at about 50 bucks.  It is also a very basic machine and includes an easy-to-empty dirt canister, auto-cord rewind and both bare floor and carpet cleaning capability.

A review of owner comments yields the following likes and dislikes:

Consumer comments are fairly unanimous in describing this vacuum as being best on hard surfaces (not carpet) and smaller area cleaning.  Most folks also find the machine very lightweight and easily portable with its carry handle – it weighs 12 lbs which is indeed rather light.  In addition, there is consensus that the floor attachment works poorly.

This is a bagless vacuum powered by a 10 amp motor.  Suction is generated by cyclonic suction – a technology used in most bagless machines today.    The dirt canister is reportedly quite easy to empty but it is also small and thus requires frequent emptying.  Filters are washable which is nice as this saves money over the lifetime of the vacuum.

Tools include an extension wand and a combination crevice tool and dusting brush.  Some owners  feel that the tools are not particularly high quality.  The automatic power cord rewind is a popular feature but the power cord length is very short at 15 to 16 feet.  Most full size vacuums have power cords of over 20 feet and some are even over 30 feet – although as many owners comment, this machine is really best for smaller areas.

The Bissell Zing 10m2 has a 6 foot hose and a 10 inch wide cleaning path and carries a 1-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.
