Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vac Bagless Upright UD20010

86.1 The Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vac UD20010 is not to be confused with model UD40195. These are similar machines but not the same. The UD20010 is a very inexpensive stick-like vacuum available at some outlets at just over 50 bucks. Most consumers give this unit good ratings and it is considered quite powerful and very effective at removing pet hair. There are some complaints that it is quite loud though.

The Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vac uses cyclonic suction (no loss of suction like a Dyson) and a 7 amp motor.  It is also a bagless vacuum.  Consumers agree that the dirt canister is quite easy to empty (bottom empty design).  It is also a lightweight vacuum at about 9 lbs.  This is lighter than most uprights and makes the unit easy to lift and maneuver.

It has automatic height adjustments which allows for effective transition from bare floors to carpet and also a telescopic handle.  The handle is useful for owners of different stature as well as for storage.  The power cord on this machine is somewhat short at 20 feet.

The Extreme Quick Vac comes with a stretch hose that allows one to reach tough-to-access areas although the hose length is only 5 feet which is a bit short.  One can also attach the crevice tool and dusting brush to the hose – both come with the vacuum.  HEPA filtration is available with the UD20010 and this will ensure that pollen, ragweed, dust mites and other allergens are removed from the air entering the vacuum.  The HEPA filter is washable and reusable.

Consumers mostly like the UD20010 but there are some comments about shortcomings:
