Eureka 96 Vacuum Rating

86.5 This vacuum has a bit of a following. Some people have had one for 10+ years and others have purchased many – several for themselves and others as gifts. The Eureka 96 is inexpensive, great for small cleanups and gets very good consumer ratings. It seems that as long as you understand that you are buying a cordless stick vacuum (and not a powerful full-size upright) you will likely not be disappointed.

It should be noted that Eureka have created a plethora of Eureka Quick-Up vacuums – they are all very similar but come under names like Eureka Quick-Up, Eureka 96, Eureka 96F, Eureka 96B, Eureka 96, Eureka 96DZ, Eureka Boss Lite, and more. There is significant confusion about what is what but they all get similar/good reviews. The ratings here are associated to all Eureka 96x (as many retailers and sites have them interchangeable).

This vacuum weighs less than 5 lbs and is bagless. The Eureka 96 is cordless and also has a wall mount rack. It is designed for quick pickups (and seems to do that admirably). It has a switch to turn on and off a motor driven brushbar and it carries a 1-year warranty.

PROS
- Very light
- Good on bare floors and low-pile carpets
- Converts into a handheld vacuum
- Comes with 2 batteries (may depend on the model!)
- Works well on pet hair
- Holds a charge for about 15 minutes
- Easy to empty the dirt canister
- Assembly is quick and easy
- Small footprint (easy to store)

CONS
- Not a substitute for a full size upright (better for smaller jobs)
- Some folks feel there is insufficient suction (although other disagree)
- Hair hard to get out of brushbar
- Have to clean the filter often
- Dirt canister must be emptied frequently
