77.0 This is the new version of the Hoover 5507-900 Elite Rewind. The new model # is the Hoover 5509-900. It is a bagless upright with HEPA filtration. It is reasonably inexpensive and has rather few bells & whistles. Consumer ratings are average. A lot of consumers really like the cord rewind on this vacuum. Consumers also state that the dirt canister is fairly easy to empty and the vacuum has excellent suction. It is powered by a 12 amp motor and comes with a 24 foot power cord – which is a little short for your basic upright. Some consumers also say that the belt breaks easily. It also comes with a headlight – a popular feature – and it has a wide cleaning path of 14.5 inches (like its predecessor the 5507-900). The HEPA filtration is useful for people with asthma or allergies as it will remove dust mites and most other allergens from the air. The Hoover Elite Rewind sports a 10 foot hose, has a pet hair tool, and comes with 7 height adjustment positions (for manual adjustment). It carries a 1 year warranty.
