Hoover Platinum Cyclonic Canister Ratings

88.9  This is a highly rated machine that purportedly is a very effective canister vacuum (although ratings are limited).  Consumers like the fact that it is stylish and has a very long 6-year warranty, however some find it heavy.  A review of comments indicates that this machine is best for larger cleaning jobs and may be “too much” for smaller cleaning spaces.  Also of note is that Consumers Digest has considered the S3865 as a Best Buy.

This Hoover canister vacuum is bagless which means it comes with a removable dirt canister.  The canister can be emptied and placed back in the vacuum (unlike a bagged vacuum where the full bag is thrown away and replaced with a new one).  Consumers have indicated that the dirt canister in the S3865 is easy to empty (it is also a “bottom empty” canister).

The Hoover S3865 Platinum canister vacuum is powered by a 12 amp motor and it utilizes Hoover’s patented WindTunnel Technology.  The S3865 also comes with a HEPA filter.  A HEPA filter will remove (from the air that passes through it) allergens like dander, dust mites and pollen.  Technically speaking a HEPA filter will remove 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in diameter or larger.  These are popular with folks suffering from asthma or allergies.

This vacuum also comes with a 14 inch wide cleaning path (average) and a 25 foot power cord.  There are only a few comments that this is a little short – which it is (we have seen that most people like 30+ feet in a power cord).  The S3865 also has several different height settings (four) for the vacuum nozzle and it sports a headlight.
