This vacuum is powered by a 12 amp motor and it uses what Hoover call WindTunnel MAX technology that is supposed to limit scattering of debris and provide more evenly distributed suction across the width of the nozzle (using three suction channels in the nozzle - right middle and left).  The cleaning path width on this machine is also quite wide at 15 inches.

The hose on the Hoover UH30600 is 15 feet in length and coupled with the 2 foot extension wand this provides a full 17 feet of cleaning reach.  The vacuum also sports Hoover’s innovative Clean Drop Bags approach.  This concept allows the front panel of the vacuum to be removed with the bag still attached.  A button then releases the bag from the panel directly into the trash - one does not have to handle the bag at all.

It has a brushbar that can be turned on or off allowing the Hoover WindTunnel Max to clean both bare floors and carpet.  The brushbar control is a foot pedal near the base of the vacuum.  7 different height settings also help the machine work effectively on different surfaces.

The cleaning radius of the vacuum is significant as it has a lengthy 30 foot power cord.  Vacuum bags constructed of HEPA media also provide protection from pollen and other allergens – a feature much liked by those with allergies or asthma.  A bag change indicator lets you know when bag replacement is necessary.

The vacuum is heavier than most uprights at 18.4 lbs. But this is still not too heavy.  It also comes with and air powered hand tool, a one foot long crevice tool and a dusting brush.  The UH30600 carries a 2-year warranty.
