Miele Titan Ratings

91.4  The Miele Titan is part of the newer Miele S2 series of canister vacuums.  Other vacuums in this series include the Delphi and the Olympus.   The Titan is the high-end of the S2 spectrum and it is ideal for low to high pile carpeting and hard surface flooring.  Consumer ratings are limited but very good.

The Titan is powered by a 1200 watt motor that has a six speed rotary dial control.  The power can be dialed up or down depending on the vacuuming needs.  The Titan comes with two brush attachments for effective vacuuming of different floor surfaces.  The SEB 217-3 Powerbrush is very good on high pile carpeting, rugs and pet hair while the parquet floor brush cleans smooth flooring.

Active HEPA filtration is provided with the Titan.  This kind of filtration uses both activated carbon to absorb odors and HEPA filtration which removes allergens from the air (99.97% of airborne particles with a diameter of 0.3 microns or larger – typically includes pollen, dust mites and the like).

This is a bagged machine (like all in the S2 series) and the bag is a fairly large 4.76 quarts (larger than the 3.7 quart bag in the S4 series).   The bags are also self-sealing and close when the dust compartment lid is opened.  This helps limit the release of dust back into the surrounding air.

The power cord on the Titan is only 21 feet (a little short but the same on all S2 canisters).   There is also a telescopic wand, auto-cord rewind, a safety shutoff upon overheating, and a dustbag change indicator.

The S2180 Titan carries a manufacturers warranty of 7 years on the motor, 7 years on the vacuum casing and 1 year on all non-wearing components.

The following table shows consumer ratings for the Miele Titan canister vacuum:
