Miele Twist S7210 Upright Vacuum

88.7  The Miele Twist S7210 is a powerful upright with good ratings.  Being a Miele it is not cheap but it comes with a wide range of features including suction control, automatic height adjustment and a long 39 foot power cord.  This machine is made in Germany and owners feel that it is solidly built and quiet.  There are some consumer comments however that the machine is heavy.

The Miele Twist is made in Germany and is built to have a working life of 20 years (or 1000 hours).  It is powered by a 1200 Watt motor with a 7 year warranty.  It is a bagged machine that uses HyClean Type U 9-layer vacuum bags that have a self-sealing collar.  The collar is spring loaded and it closes automatically when the vacuum is removed thereby ensuring dirt or dust does not escape.   There is also a bag change indicator.

This is a 2 motor machine with the main motor used to generate suction and another motor used to operate the brushbar.  The nozzle height on the Miele twist adjusts itself automatically and the swivel neck provides a high level of maneuverability, actually allowing the machine to be laid down horizontally to help get under low furniture.

The Twist has a very lengthy power cord at 39 feet and combined with the stretch hose and the stainless steel telescopic wand provides a full 54 feet of cleaning reach. Suction is controlled via a dial on the vacuum which has several settings - Smooth, Low Pile, Deep Pile and Curtains (200 watts to 1200 watts).

There are 3 attachments - a crevice tool, an upholstery tool and a dusting brush.  These all store on board the vacuum. This machine does not come standard with HEPA filtration (although a HEPA filter can be purchased and will fit).  The Miele Twist comes with a Super Clean Air filter that removes 99.95% of all particles with a diameter of 0.5 microns or larger.

The vacuum also includes rubber non-marring wheels, a carry handle, and it weighs a hefty 22 lbs. It carries a 7 year warranty on the motor and 1-year on the rest of the vacuum.
